The Bachelor: the Bachelor Final Four Contestants – Secrets and Plastic Surgery

We all know “The Bachelor” final contestants have little secrets, some history, and suspected plastic surgery. Even though we’re aware of these facts, we like to learn more about it. According to US magazine, two of the final Bachelor contestants have had breast implants, one hated the results, and another has an ex-husband who speaks out. What are the final four contestants of “The Bachelor” really like?

The Bachelor Final Four Contestants: Nerdy Past

You’d think a stint on “The Bachelor” would improve the confidence level of swimsuit model, Gia. The model from Queens, NYC never had a boyfriend in high school, according to a childhood pal. However, another source claimed Gia was so popular, she hooked up with everyone in spite of coming off innocent. From what we’ve seen on “The Bachelor,” Gia bonded with Jake over their high school pasts of being nerds and ugly ducklings. What time can do for people. If you learn anything from this fact, never underestimate the nerdy types in your school!

The Bachelor Final Four Contestants: Boob Jobs

When it comes to plastic surgery, US magazine reports Vienna had a boob job done by taking $5,000 out of her ex-husband’s account. Her ex, Josh Riley, reported, “She told me her dad paid for them!” The truth? It was one of the few things daddy didn’t buy Vienna. She siphoned it out of Josh’s account when he was a Marine deployed in Iraq.

Gia had the same procedure, but wasn’t happy, according to her friend, Amanda Olson. “She was so unhappy with the first surgery, she had to get them redone,” Olson says. Breast implants wasn’t the only work Gia had done. Olson claims she had her nose reshaped as well, but her lips are natural.

The Bachelor Final Four Contestants: Vienna’s Ex Speaks Out

Vienna has had a lot of luck on “The Bachelor” as one of the narrowing contestants, but she’s not viewed in a very flattering light. Her ex-husband, Josh told US, “I’m 99% sure she cheated on me. My friends would see her with other guys partying.” How on earth can Jake still keep her around with the blatant contempt her fellow contestants have for her? He can never say he wasn’t warned!

The Bachelor Final Four Contestants: Ali Likes Older Men

What about Bachelor contestant, Ali? She has no dirty secrets as far as US could report. The contestant for Jake on “The Bachelor” is known as the fun-loving girl next door, except for her vendetta with Vienna. Her type is older guys and “has had several serious relationships,” a pal tells US. Her pal adds, “but Ali needs to be open instead of talking behind someone’s back.”

The Bachelor Final Four Contestants: Tenley the Cleanest

As for sweet Tenley, a source close to her tells US she posted Bible verses on Facebook to cope with her husband’s infidelity. Apparently her ex-husband is engaged to the fellow cop he cheated with. The good news is her ex’s family wishes her well.

The American College Dream and Why It’s Flushing Down Uncle Sam’s Toilet

It’s the norm for high school graduates to attend college immediately after they graduate high school. It’s ridiculous. These young adults should be supported by their parents to go pursue their dreams whether they have to go to school for it or not. I can name a good amount of of successful individuals that never completed a college degree: John D. Rockefeller, Walt Disney, Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, Steve Jobs, and Steven Spielberg. All of these men decided what they wanted to do in life and quickly attacked their targets like some wild lions that were starving for a couple days. Aggressiveness should be used in certain situations but not frequently. You don’t want people thinking you’re an addict or just someone who requires deep assistance in anger management.

As an out-of-state student, I am already in debt for nearly my whole life. Of course, I’m not alone in this. Many students reading this article are probably at the same point in life as me. In an ideal world, students should attend university strictly to gain knowledge. But yet, I find a lack of motivation to be overpowering my will to do well in my classes. That’s why ADHD medicine such as Ritalin and Adderall are pretty much going around like currency on most campuses.

Technology has shown to be a growing issue as one of the leading causes of short attention spans in the upcoming wave of Twitter Babies. Believe it or not, television, the internet, and other machines are gradually rewiring our brains. We are getting used to having multiple things occurring at the same time. For example, I usually find myself listening to music, watching television, and completing an essay that’s due within a couple hours all at the same time.

Many college professors try to stick to the same tired teaching method of mostly oral and written notes on the blackboard. Some people just forget what year it is. I understand that technology is advancing too quick to be keeping track of it, but we have to know how people’s brains are working now compared to 30 or 40 years ago. The only way you direct someone’s attention toward yourself and hold onto it is if you present mostly visual content such as images, videos, and creatively designed power points. It’s sad but so true in the many students that I’ve been observing.

Even if teaching methods of professors were changed throughout the country, is it really worth it to spend around $100,000 to go to school for a few years? Isn’t the goal to be making money after you get your degree? Then how come you find yourself in a huge debt afterward? There is someone I know named John. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in the West Coast at a well-known university. Now he’s back in New Jersey at home. No idea what to do but constantly thinking everyday. He regrets that he went with a science major and decided that it’s ridiculous. He knows he won’t be happy in that career field. He is now in so much debt, but the awesome thing is that he is looking of ways to make money without the help of his degree. John knows all he needs is creativity and hard work to take the next step into adulthood now.

Unfortunately, the prices that have to be paid for classes at a university are constantly skyrocketing. It’s a flat-out joke in my opinion. Why pay money to work at the pace of different professors that have different teaching methods and sometimes, even worse, terrible accents that are nearly impossible to understand. Everyone learns at a different speed. Some students like to obtain information nice and slow while others like to speed through assignments without even trying to grasp the concepts from their class.

Before you or your children decide to attend college, make sure they’re making the right choice and pursuing whatever career they love most. The goal here should be to make everything as stress-free and convenient as possible. I almost get tears in my eyes watching these students choose a major because of the money they should make in their first that they just want to go with for the money. Money has no importance when you are unhappy with your daily life. Maybe one day the toilet will stop flushing and the College Dream will jump out and show it’s transformed. Changes are needed with the education system and they are needed now. Do your part and contact your governors and the president about raising tuition. Create some petitions. Go outside and protest. The point is to stop sitting there and do something. Try to make some positive changes in other people’s lives instead of being an observer behind the screen. Please, get up and make a difference in this country!

The Adoption Option – a Lot Less Intimidating and Expensive Than Assumed

As my friends and I hover around our 40th birthdays, I hear a variety of reflections on starting a family — from those who did so years ago, from those who never intend to, and most poignantly from those who felt the opportunity had passed them by. For far too long, I assumed having a family was not in the cards. Perhaps growing up gay in a less-enlightened time helped install that assumption in me. But after more than a dozen years in a committed relationship, and a sea change in public perceptions and state laws, I realized such assumptions and limitations were of my own doing.

The second assumption, and one far more universal, took longer to dismiss. While it is true that private adoptions through reputable domestic and international agencies can easily run up to $50,000 per child, we completed our family for free. Those working in social service agencies are among the most caring and committed individuals I have ever had the pleasure to meet, but I have also found that they are not the most effective marketers at getting this message out to stable, caring individuals and couples considering the adoption option.

Rather than adopting a child from a foreign country, we felt there were plenty of wonderful children in our own backyard in need of a loving family. After taking an 8 week course (a couple hours each week) on the process, and going through a thorough background check and family history review, the matching process began. During this process, you have the opportunity to consider the attributes of the child you will adopt ‘” including gender, race, age, legal status, and health concerns you feel you can assume. About 9 months after our first inquiry, a beautiful, healthy, legally-free 3 year old boy was placed in our home. While we originally thought we wanted a newborn like so many other adoptive parents, our hearts melted the moment we met him and we knew he completed our family.

In Massachusetts (and other states, I’ve since learned), the state covers all legal fees associated with the adoption. Prior to finalization, the child must live in your home for at least 6 months to ensure a successful placement. During this time, pre-adoptive families receive subsidy financial support from the state to help with the child’s costs. For children with special needs, that subsidy continues after finalization.

Of greater surprise to us, children adopted in Massachusetts through the state receive full health insurance through adulthood. They also receive full tuition reimbursement for state colleges and universities. Health coverage and college tuition are two of the most feared expenses in raising a child ‘” but for those considering adoption, they need not be.

Adopting a child is the biggest decision we ever made as a couple or even as individuals. Knowing that many of the costs I feared were actually covered helped immensely. Adoption is an incredibly important decision that requires the deepest levels of soul searching. While nobody should adopt simply because the financial costs are not as high as they may have assumed ‘” it is so important that qualified, loving, caring families do not rule it out due to unfounded financial fears.

Teaching Kids at Home

There are many instances where you could be teaching a skill to an individual: reading, math procedures, computer skills, mechanical skills, crafts, cooking or tutoring your children at home.

I have taught many skills to individuals of all ages. I have tutored elementary school students, secondary students and college students. In additioin I have taught individual skiils such as: CPR, Marksmanship to Korean soldiers, leather braiding, woodcarving, metalwork and knot tying.

In order to instruct individuals you need to develop a logical process that takes into consideration the characteristics of what you are teaching as well as the needs of the student.

Here is a technique that I have used successfully for many years to instruct individual students.

  1. The instructor needs to analyze the task or subject matter and break it down into small individual steps or units and arrange them in a logical sequence. Test the sequence to make sure it works as expected.
  2. Student and instructor should be seated side by side facing in the same direction. This way, the student gets the same view of the task, procedure or subject matter as the instructor.
  3. If the instructor is right handed, put the student to the instructor’s left. If the instructor is left handed put the student to the instructor’s right. This arrangement gives the student the best view of the procedure or subject matter with the least obstruction by the instructor’s hands and arms.
  4. The instructor should now demonstrate the individual steps of the skill or procedure by the numbers: No. 1, No 2 …… The instructor should explain each step as he or she moves along. Encourage the student to stop the instructor if any step is unclear. The instructor can redemonstrate, reexplain or review the material.
  5. After demonstrating and explaining the procedure or material by the numbers, the instructor should demonstrate the process slowly, moving through the steps without explanation. Again, encourage the student to stop the instructor for clarification.
  6. After this, the instructor should demonstrate the procedure at normal speed.
  7. The next step is to have the instructor and student switch positions. The instructor should be to the left of a right handed student or the right of a left handed student.
  8. Have the student carry out the procedure or process by the numbers under the instructor’s supervision.
  9. Next have the student demonstrate the process slowly without comment by the instructor. The instructor should stop the student if he or she observes an error..
  10. Finally, have the student demonstrate the process at normal pace. Once the student has mastered the process or subject matter he or she can practice to develop speed and efficiency.
  11. If the student has not mastered the process or material at this point, the instructor should return to step A.

The process may seem a bit cumbersome at first but with practice it will become very effective.

Tabitha Taylor Facelift — Hot New Go Daddy Girl Joan Rivers Helps Put a Face on Young Model

Joan Rivers’ smoking hot body in the GoDaddy.com Super Bowl commercial had everyone talking after the game ended Sunday. Most people knew it wasn’t the 77-year-old comedian’s body supporting the Joan Rivers face at the end of the commercial — a literal cameo — and it wasn’t long before the question of whose body it was had an answer: Tabitha Taylor. But who is Tabitha Taylor, many wondered, and does this mean that she gets equal billing with Rivers as a new GoDaddy.co girl?

Truth is, Taylor already is a Go Daddy girl. A professional model and kickboxing instructor, Taylor was a spokesperson for the company in 2009, after appearing in the now famous “enhancements” commercial alongside Danica Patrick for the website company. And now, according to OK Magazine, it looks as if she’s still a Go Daddy girl. Sort of. At least her body is a Go Daddy girl’s body.

GoDaddy.com has made a reputation for itself with racy Super Bowl ads over the years, many of which have been banned, which in turn has driven traffic to their website to see the racy ads. This year’s commercials didn’t seem to be heading in a different direction. Still, no one expected the twist for the company’s “hottest new domain.”

The 2011 GoDaddy.com Super Bowl commercial caused a stir after the ad, which was promoting the new computer domain “GoDaddy.co,” kept showing a toned and trim body with the head turned from the camera, a teaser for the new “face” of the new domain and the new Go Daddy girl. At commercial’s end, Joan Rivers’ image rested atop the body in a shocking reveal.

A boisterous bunch of guys in the ad go slack-jawed during the reveal. Hand on hip, Rivers says, “Is it hot in here, or is it just me?”

After speculation ran rampant on the Internet about whether or not the body was hers, Rivers took to Twitter to assure everyone that it was indeed her body.

“Yes, yes, yes, it’s my body in the @GoDaddy ad,” she joked. “The New York Knicks can’t be the only ones to share in this pleasure.”

Bob O’Connell pointed out at Zap 2 It that the 25-year-old model had a few things in common with the 77-year-old comedian. They both seemed to be partial to augmentations. And, oddly enough, they do somewhat resemble each other (which might or might not be a result of the plastic surgeries).

But why choose Rivers as the new GoDaddy.co girl?

“They were looking for someone stupid to be their new spokesperson,” she told Rob Shuter at Naughty But Nice. “I’m now Joan.co. It couldn’t be any easier.”

Stupid or not, the advertising twist seems to have worked. Like the Darth Vader Volkswagen commercial, people continue to talk about it.

Besides the GoDaddy.com commercials on her resume, Tabitha Taylor has appeared in several television shows and films. And with her body doubling a hit, Taylor and her body will most likely be in great demand for some time to come.

Joan Rivers continues to be a draw no matter what she’s doing. Currently, the comedienne stars on television with her daughter Melissa in Joan and Melissa: Joan Knows Best and on Fashion Police. Her autobiographical documentary, “Joan Rivers: A Piece of Work,” was released to rave critical reviews in 2010.

Stretching is Vital to Joint and Muscle Health

Have you ever noticed that a cat or dog will stretch almost every time they get up from sleep or laying around? They do this because it’s good for them. Most dogs and cats don’t have near the joint problems that humans do. It’s because they stretch as often as they can.

Stretching is one of the most important things you can do for your body. It doesn’t matter if you want to get in shape or are even trying.

If you practice daily stretching, you can still avoid some of the injuries that come with daily life; like joint pain and muscle aches.

Exercise isn’t always fun for everyone, but stretching is something that anyone can do and it feels great.

If you are trying to get in shape you need to add daily stretching to your routine. You should even stretch on the days you aren’t working out, just to keep the muscles limber and help prevent injuries on your workout days. It also increases blood flow which is essential to all your vital organs and tissues.

Stretching before a workout helps to warm up soft tissues and prevent tears in ligaments. A good daily stretch also helps prevent muscle strain and bone fractures by keeping everything in working order.

Some of the reasons that stretching is so important for your workouts is the extra benefits it gives you. Not only does it do the things mentioned above, it also helps to increase your muscle tone, diminishes muscle stiffness and cramping, but it also adds more flexibility.

Poor flexibility is one of the major causes of stress injuries on the muscles and joints and tight hamstring muscles are directly related to lower back pain. Tight muscles lead to poor posture, so it’s only natural that flexible, strong muscles will improve posture.

Another benefit that really isn’t discussed as much is that stretching can also help you manage stress and improve your brain function by giving you mental clarity. Getting oxygen to the brain, even with something as easy as stretching is always a huge benefit.

Stretching before your workout as a warm up and afterwards as a cool down phase is vital to your overall health and progress. The warm up phase gets your muscles ready and limber for the extra loads you’re about to put on them. During the cool down phase, stretching helps your muscles relax after a hard workout.

It may seem like a contradiction but you do need to warm up the muscles before stretching. You can do this by walking in place, doing some jumping jacks or light aerobics. The key is to get some blood pumping to the muscles before you stretch them. Stretching a cold muscle can be just as damaging as not stretching during your workouts.

Also remember to hold stretches for awhile. Most experts tell you 10 or 15 seconds, but you get greater benefits the longer you can hold a stretch and let gravity do as much of the work as possible. Never force yourself into a stretching pose, instead just slink into it naturally and only stretch as far as you feel comfortable.

We’ve discussed ways that stretching can help you with your workouts and mentioned that stretching is good for everyone. If you’re a couch potato and have no desire to do exercise, you should do some stretches daily. It’ll make you feel better, and who knows, it may inspire you to start working out.

Spore Creature Creator: A Precursor to Will Wright’s Spore

Ever since we were children, we have all enjoyed playing God. It all started with our action figures, and then Will Wright came along with The Sims franchise. Given the power to control your Sims every action, letting them live or die on your whim. There is nothing like the feeling of using your Godly ability to kill by removing the ladder from the pool or making the door to a room disappear, ultimately leading to the death of your Sim. After all of the shenanigans you could pull, you felt the need for more power. The folks over at Maxis have decided it was time you had that power, and they have created the next step in the God sim genre with Spore.

Spore is due out to a PC near you in September, but you can have a taste of the power that lies ahead of you with the Spore Creature Creator. The creature creator doesn’t just allow you to choose from a few skins or body types for your devoted followers. The possibilities are almost endless with over 200 different parts available to customize your lifeforms with. Your little (or big if you choose) minion will probably not be made in the image of its creator. If you can imagine it, you can most likely create it.

The creation of your creature is a very simple but fulfilling process. After you choose a body, or create your own by manipulating the spine to your desired height, width, and length, you can just start dragging and dropping on body parts. You want four beefy arms with spikes running down them, not a problem, you want a tiny useless arm dangling from the back of your skull, it can be done. The choices of parts you pick are not just for looks, spikes and poison spores give your creature ways to attack others or to defend itself. Even the mouth you choose will effect your creatures diet.

Before you take your creature to the test drive section to try out those five legs, you got to get painted up. The paint option allows you to choose from premade designs, or you can give a custom look by painting him up by using layers. By choosing a base, coat, and detail layer you can give a look you know you won’t find anywhere else. If you have a look you really like you can even apply it to another creature you make down the line.

Spore promises to be a great game full of custom-made creatures, buildings and vehicles. Until we can play the full version we will happily be killing the time until release with our custom-made army of six-armed, one-legged, lobster-dog men.

Sociological Imagination: The Need for a Universal Antidote

Can you imagine anything more horrific than to be told you’ve just been poisoned, and that you will die in just a short time?

Of course, Harrison Ford played out this scenario to great comic effect in the 1984 adventure movie Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.

What we see in this movie is wonderfully choreographed chaos as Indiana Jones struggles to get the vial of sparkling liquid which his enemy Lao Che has described as the antidote, the only thing that will save him.

In this, not only did Indiana Jones know he was slowly dying; he also had to face the cruel fact that the solution was just beyond his reach.

For any of us, wouldn’t it be easier to just die without hope, then to realize that the antidote representing life was only inches away and still unobtainable?

Sociological Imagination: The Need for a Universal Antidote

Can this idea of a universal antidote be taken to new levels of grim necessity?

True, we are far removed from the arch enemy caricatures of the 1930s upon which the character of Lao Che is based; but can the present state of our human experience be in need of a type of generalized and omnipresent antidote?

Further, as we deal with the particular poisons of the post-9/11 era, wouldn’t the antidote have to represent the power of faith instead of just being a vial of sparkling liquid?

The need for a universal antidote is typically recognized as we are engaging in the daily dramas of the sociological imagination. This imagination refers to how the individual interprets personal experiences in terms of what is happening in the larger world.

The Martians of 1950s drive-ins, for example, are a helpful precedent of human experience which involves this interpretation. The fiction of the Martians could bring about a greater sense of attunement to the sociological imagination if only because moviegoers were encouraged to envision the impact of the real foreign invaders, those who had already pushed the destructive panic button of their own political dogmas.

Because of the sociological imagination, the aliens of the movies could become translated into the Red Menace of real life.

Further, the need for (and acquisition of) a universal antidote was demonstrated in these drive-in reminisces by the reliance on science to defeat any and all enemies.

The United States didn’t have to admit to any real fear as long as science could be the façade of the moment, a one-way ticket to a more personal peace of mind. Science could always be the coins I found in my father’s pocket when I wanted to buy ice cream.

War of the Worlds (1953), The Blob (1958), and When Worlds Collide (1951) are all fine examples of how the antidote of science became the universal rationalization for sending the kids off to school in the morning with a clear conscience even when ambiguous predators roamed the streets.

How can anything truly frighten you as long as the test tubes are cooking up a better alternative for the hatred of human beings?

Of course, this scientific antidote can be seen even in more recent times. One has to only consider the space race to see the point.

Somewhere between playing with rubber ducks and playing with atomic bombs, the need for a universal antidote becomes apparent, and it is discovered by distinguishing between the personal experience of watching children playing on the swings and the real possibility that the swings may one day become rusty.
